A distinct feature of the Basic Income and Care Project for Transgender Persons was the incorporation of “Care Workshops.” Over the course of the program, six Care Workshops were conducted, for the selected participants every two months.

These workshops functioned as listening and sharing spaces where participants discussed their concerns and experiences. The sessions also included discussions on self-care and mutual care as symbiotic practices for community building within a capitalist world.

Through these exchanges, community building was initiated through the creation of safe spaces, fostering connection, and raising awareness of basic rights.

The workshops were conducted with the aim of providing support beyond monetary assistance as a way of offering community healing for transgender individuals who have experienced systemic oppression and trauma as gendered marginal subjects.
